The Social and Recreation Committee is composed of a very enthusiastic, hard working group of people. Our goal is to offer the Shelter Bay community a variety of events, classes and lectures.

During the past year the committee has put together events for the youth of the community, such as the End of Summer Pizza party, New Years Eve party and the End of School Bash (which is scheduled to take place June 16th). We are fortunate to have a member of the committee, who takes charge of all these events.

The committee has also arranged events such as:

• Halloween Party
• Thanksgiving Dinner
• Chili Feed

We are currently planning the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner and planning the serving of food at the first annual Eco-Fair. Both of these events will take place in May, 2010.

The committee is always happy to work with other community groups such as the Shelter Bay Choir, Cosmos and Game Night. For each of these events the committee has helped set-up chairs and tables (if asked) and served refreshments.

During the remainder of the year, we will continue to work toward our goal of bringing programs that are of interest to our community.
