LOT COMMITTEE
ANNUAL REPORT

2008 - 2009

The Lot Committee meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 9:00 am at the Clubhouse. The Committee has had a stable full membership with the exceptions being the Chair and Board representatives. Carolyn Patterson resigned from the Committee and as acting Chair in February of this year. Don Moore took over as acting Chair and Board representative to the committee.

The Lot Committee has the responsibility for at least 12 different areas within Shelter Bay. These duties are accomplished through the use of resident volunteers. Some of, but not all the areas the Lot Committee is responsible for include:

  • Drainage
  • Exterior lighting
  • Tree planting and landscaping
  • View restoration and view creation
  • Nuisances and pets
  • Off-street parking of vehicles, boats, and trailers.
  • Permitting of satellite dish antennas
  • Monitoring of the Storage Lot for compliance to the lot rules and regulations.

At present the Committee consists of Jim Greer, Gary Johnson, Ken Lee, Pam Malmberg, Jack Withrow, Sandy Nelson and Bob Conrad as alternates, and Don Moore as Board representative and acting Chair. Additional volunteers are always welcome and can participate on the Committee as an "alternate" until a permanent position opens up.

The Lot Committee coordinates and works closely with the Greenbelt Committee. A large part of the Committees work concerns the permitting involved in removal or trimming of trees on a members lot or on another members lot for the purpose of view restoration. Much of this time is spent with the various neighbors in trying to reach a conclusion that satisfies all parties. Not an easy task and often a thankless one for the volunteers.

Don Moore, Board Representative
Lot Committee Acting Chair
