The Communications Committee consists of the following Volunteers:

Once again this year, we focused a great deal on our website www.shelterbay.net. With our web master, Don Monroe, spending a lot of time re-hosting the site when our previous host was discontinued, making it very user friendly and full of information for the community. Adding items such as the monthly calendar that has listed on it all the Shelter Bay activities and can be printed. Dick Olds continues to serve as the assistant webmaster. Dick also maintains the website for the Shelter Bay Yacht Club. That site is also easy to navigate and full of useful boating information.
The Committee’s desire to have the Shelter Bay Newsletter a source of board and community news with advertising being secondary, seems to be popular with the community as we have heard very favorable comments and our advertisers are pleased with the results. Most have remained as long term advertisers. The budget for the Committee shows a positive result of the advertising placed in the newsletter. Gail Taylor is to be credited for keeping the billings and the advertising information current.
Another item the Committee addressed this year was the use of the sandwich board sign by the gate. Having this “information vehicle” is of great advantage, as it is so easily viewed by community residents. And when the “notice box” is already in use it provides “advertising” space for our many community events.
