NEWSLETTER

Gail Taylor, Editor of the Newsletter has been in this position for approximately 7 years. Claudia Young, Newsletter Production Editor has held this position for over 5 years. They continue to work on improvements to the Newsletter and add articles of interest to the Community. If you have suggestions, please contact Gail.

Advertising in the newsletter continues to be popular with the community and we have heard very favorable comments from our advertisers as to results. The cost of the newsletter is supplemented greatly by the advertising rates. Pat O’Mara, our Community Bookkeeper, with the assistance of Gail, is to be credited for keeping the billings and the advertising information current.

The "Blotter" is also a popular inclusion in the Newsletter. Several community members have commented that it is a good way to keep members informed of any mischief going on in the area and a reminder for all of us to keep safe surroundings. We also changed the format of the monthly calendar so that it can be easily removed from the newsletter and placed in a convenient location of your choice, i.e. desk, refrigerator, etc.

Remember that the Newsletter is available on the website approximately 5 to 7 days prior to the mailed copy. In addition it is in color and can easily be printed from your home computer. Accessing the internet for receipt of your newsletter saves the community money in printing and postage. Many people have signed up for this electronic receipt.

If you have access to a computer and wish to sign up for receipt via your computer, contact Gail at gits380sl@aol.com and she will arrange for this service.  Also, provide Gail with your email address and you will be notified when the newsletter is online and ready for your access.

WEBSITE

We have tried to continue to make improvements to the website over the last year. We have opened up website advertising to allow homeowners to advertise their homes for sale or rent. We have added the Community By-Laws and the Articles of Incorporation. Another page we added is the map of Shelter Bay. The agendas page now has the Board Agenda Packet, which includes the agenda items and committee reports.

Website traffic continues to increase. There were 19% more visits during the second year on our host, HostMonster, compared to our first year on that host.
